Gentle Folk Piccadilly Chardonnay 2024
From one of Piccadilly’s standout sites, the St James Vineyard, this release is a brilliant showcase of cool-climate Adelaide Hills Chardonnay. Planted in 1996 and sitting high at 525 metres just below Mount Lofty, the vineyard delivers fruit with purity, tension and depth. The wine is all about balance: bright citrus and melon flavours layered with juicy stone fruit, subtle oak spice, and a crisp line of acidity that gives it drive and length.
Whole bunches were gently pressed and the juice spent nearly a year in French oak (20% new), adding texture without overwhelming the fruit. The result is a Chardonnay that’s both vibrant and complex perfect to enjoy now, but with the structure to age gracefully. Only 1,843 bottles made.
